An Original 8 X 10 Portrait Still from the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock Horror/Thriller film “Psycho” starring Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh and Vera Miles. The story surrounds a woman (Leigh) entrusted with $40,000 by her employer.  She decides to steal the money and run off so that she can start a new life with her boyfriend.  While heading out of town she decides to pull off the interstate and stay at the old “Bates Motel”.  The woman is never seen again.  Her sister and a private detective begin searching for her and trace her whereabouts to the “Bates Motel” where they believe she was last seen.  Arguably director Alfred Hitchcock’s best known film and the highest grossing of his career, “Psycho” has become one of the most recognizable films in cinematic history and the legendary “shower scene” is considered one of the most frightening scenes ever filmed.  It is widely noted that Hitchcock bought the rights to the novel “Psycho” from author Robert Bloch for only $9,000 then went all over the west coast purchasing as many copies of the novel as he could find in effort to keep the ending a secret.  “Psycho” was the one film Hitchcock required in theater’s contracts that no one arriving late to the film would be admitted until the next showing.  This was Hitchcock’s attempt at keeping the murder of star actress Janet Leigh a secret and added more drama to the film’s campaign.  Offered here is an Original Portrait Still of Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates taken in what was supposed to be his living room at the Bates Motel.  The creepy image of the stuffed owl along with Perkins starring into the camera has since become etched into the minds of movie-goers forever.  The condition on this magnificent Original Still is Near Mint with remnants of an attached theatrical snipe on the verso.  Near Mint.
